Acharya
Arya Samaj tradition, Arya Samaj Sanskar Vidhi; Yajurveda adhyayana at Gurukul Kangri, Haridwar. He has practised in Haridwar for 21 years.
The person
He took his Vedic schooling at Gurukul Kangri in Haridwar and has conducted sanskars for Arya Samaj mandirs along the Ganga canal for twenty-one years. His practice is havan-centred and follows the Sanskar Vidhi compiled by Swami Dayanand Saraswati: there is no murti puja, no image is installed, and every offering goes into the kund with a Vedic mantra spoken aloud. He translates each mantra into Hindi or English at the moment it is offered, so that families understand the words as they say them rather than afterwards. Couples marrying across communities often find their way to him because the Arya Samaj vivah is short, textual and does not require either family to adopt the other's local custom.
Where he stands
The school a pandit belongs to and the shakha he was trained in decide the order of the vidhi and the sound of the recitation. Both are stated rather than assumed.
Sampradaya
Arya Samaj
The reform tradition founded by Dayananda Saraswati in 1875. Rites are Vedic havan, the meaning of each mantra is given in the spoken language as it is recited, and murti puja is not part of the vidhi.
Lineage
Arya Samaj Sanskar Vidhi; Yajurveda adhyayana at Gurukul Kangri, Haridwar
This lineage was confirmed in writing by his pathashala and vouched for by senior purohits who have practised alongside him. What was examined, and on what date, is set out under Verification.
Verification
Each check below was carried out by our team against a document or a person who could confirm it. A check is dated because a check from three years ago is a different claim from one made last month.
Aadhaar and PAN were checked against the name on his bank account, and a live video selfie was matched to both documents by our onboarding team.
8 Oct 2025
His Vedic schooling at Gurukul Kangri was confirmed against the gurukul register, and the pradhan of the Arya Samaj mandir at Jwalapur confirmed in writing that he has served on its purohit roster since 2011.
21 Oct 2025
He recited the vivah and namkaran sequences from the Sanskar Vidhi before a three-member review panel, which assessed svara, the ahuti order and the accuracy of his running Hindi translation of each mantra.
3 Nov 2025
He completed a recorded rehearsal from the Arya Samaj hall he works out of: one wide angle and one close angle on the kund, a clip-on microphone, and an uplink measured at 8 Mbps sustained over an hour.
27 Jan 2026
A police verification certificate from the Haridwar district office dated 19 February 2026 was received, along with references from the two mandir committees whose registers carry his marriage sanskar entries.

Expertise
Specialities are the families of rite he has trained and practised in, not everything the catalogue offers.
Languages
The mantras themselves are recited in Sanskrit whoever performs them. What the list above changes is the language the sankalp is taken in, and the language the rite is explained in as it proceeds — which is the part a family follows.
Rites
Each one states its vidhi, its samagri and what differs between tiers before you commit to anything.
Ganesha
विवाह संस्कार
The Vedic wedding rite. Two families are joined before Agni, and the couple walks the saptapadi — the seven steps that complete the marriage.
Ganesha

The first entry into a new home — the kalash carried across the threshold, the dwar puja at the main door, and milk set to boil over on the new hearth.
Ganesha
नामकरण संस्कार
Performed on the eleventh or twelfth day after birth. The child is shown the sun, the janma nakshatra gives the first syllable, and the name is spoken into the ear before it is announced.
Ganesha
अन्नप्राशन संस्कार
The first solid food, given between the sixth and eighth month. Kheer is offered to the deity, then placed on the child's tongue by an elder.
Ganesha
वास्तुशान्ति होम
Performed before or alongside griha pravesh. The vastu purusha mandala is drawn, the directional guardians are named, and the fire is offered at the centre of the house.
Ganesha
चूडाकर्म संस्कार
The eighth of the sixteen samskaras. The child’s first hair is offered, and the family gathers to mark that infancy has passed.

My husband is Punjabi and I am Tamil, and both sets of parents had different expectations about the ceremony. Acharya ji met us a fortnight earlier, went through the Sanskar Vidhi line by line and told us plainly which parts are fixed and which are ours to decide. On the day the whole vivah took just over an hour and he said the meaning of every ahuti before we made it. My father, who was the most sceptical, has since asked for a copy of the vidhi.

He drove up from Haridwar for our daughter's namkaran and brought his own kund and samidha so our flat did not have to be rearranged. He kept the havan small and smokeless enough for a two-month-old to be in the room. Everything he chanted, he explained. He also wrote out the name and the nakshatra syllable on a card for us to keep.

We did the havan in our own flat in London with Acharya ji guiding on video at seven in the morning his time. He had checked the week before that a small kund is allowed in our building and suggested a copper tray under it. The mantras were in Sanskrit and the explanation in English, which suited my husband who does not read Devanagari. He was unhurried and never once made it sound like something bad would follow if we skipped a step.

Careful work and a very clear explanation of what the Arya Samaj form does and does not include, which we should have read more closely before booking. My mother had expected a kalash sthapana with an image and there is none in this vidhi. Acharya ji handled that conversation with a lot of patience. Half a star off only because the confirmation call came late.
